hmmm format inside teh console, not on the PC: System Settings System Formatting Options Format microSD Card . Formatting on a PC with the wrong settings is a common reason the console wont accept a card.
might also be worth a moderator setting: limiting images per page or lazy loading them would help people on ROG Ally regardless of the bug. just my 2 cents
