once audio works, create a restore point and consider keeping the makers audio driver from being replaced by Windows Update if it caused issues before. lmk how it goes

Check your Windows build with winver... newer driver packages can require a minimum feature update... if youre on an old build, install teh pending feature update first and try again.

Some laptops use OEM customized drivers (common on hybrid graphics). In that case get teh driver from the latpop makers support page, or use the generic NVIDIA pcakage only if it explicitly lists mobile GPUs. lmk how it goes
