been there man driver udpates do sometimes include seucrity fixes, so i woludnt stay on a very old version forever... but waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.

@yziegler yesss clean install with the audio component included fixed it. The soundbar has sound again and I learned what Custom install is for.

yeah so device Manager doesnt show any HD audio device from AMD anymore, even with hidden devices shown. idk what else to say tbh

@router lab495 omggg it was the power cable. One daisy chained cable on a hungry card. Swapped to two separate cables and the small form factor PC hasnt blacked out since. Lesson learned. owe u a beer 🍺
