ok but dumb question but how do i even check the default config, same issue here on my work pc... fololwing this thread ?

ok so many GPU installers let u choose components in Custom install, and teh HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them. rerun teh NVIDIA installer, choose Custom, and make sure the HD audio component is ticked.
try turning off teh drievr first, fixed it for me fingers crossed 馃
