@cacheprobe Turns out XMP was off teh whole time. Enabled it and gained a noticeable chunk of FPS for free. Now Im saving for the GPU with a clearer head.

ok so checked my board and it does support a few newer CPUs after a BIOS update. sorry for the wall of text lol

is driver update even worth bothering with or should i just leave it ? rgb adds +10 fps everyone knows that

hmmm my approach: make a restore point, download teh previous driver package sooo it's ready, then try teh new one. if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. that makes updating a low risk experiment. good luck man!
