run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup Image /RestoreHealth to rule out damaged system files, especially after a big Windows update.
did you install chipset drivers from the PC maker, or only teh audio driver?
ok but does teh GPUs HD audio device show up in Device Manager at all?
