Driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so i wouldnt stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.
hmmm for office work, stability matters more than the newest game optimizations. if theres a separate stable/studio/recommended branch, thats usually the betetr fit. lmk how it goes 15 tabs open and chrome ate all 32GB of ram again
my approach: make a restore point, download the previous driver package sooo its ready, then try the new one. if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall teh old one. that makes updating a low risk experiment.
