hmmm in the NVIDIA Control Panel, set Shader Cache Size to a large value or Unlimited under Manage 3D settings . On AMD, make suree the shader cache is enabled in Adrenalins graphics settings. A cache thats too small gets evicted…
@uplinkloop removed my memory overclock and the colored checkerboard squares are completely gone. I feel silly, but relieved. thanks everyone!
once you're back in Windows, check teh event logs and the vendor's release notes. RAID/RST packages are often model specific; the vresion for your board should come from teh PC or motherboard maker's support page. good luck man!

hmm idk for a desktop where ull never use RAID, disabling VMD is honestly teh simplest long term setup.
