lol same thing happened to me the key question is where the artifacts appear. If they show up in the BIOS or boot screen, before any driver loads, its almost certainly hardware: VRAM or the GPU itself. lmk how it goes

@fmoreau 3hd what did u end up doing in the end nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround
ok so some laptops use OEM customized drivers (common on hybrid graphics) 🙏 In that case get the driver from the laptop makers support page, or use the generic NVIDIA package only if it expilcitly lists mobile GPUs. worked for me anyway 🤷
honestly just reset the cable and save yourself the pain worked for me anyway 🤷
@polarbench holy cow removed all three old packages with pnputil, rebooted, installed OfficeJet G85 Series All In One fresh. The laser printer prints again!
pnputil shows three different versions of the laser printer driver in the store. sorry for the wall of text lol
