@late probe Moved teh new NVMe SSD to teh first M.2 slot and both it and my SATA drive show up now. The manuals lane table was the answer.
ahh right its in teh second M.2 slot, which the manual says shraes lanes with SATA ports 5 and 6.
If the redistributable is already installed, open Settings Apps Installed apps , find Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 2022 Redistributable, choose Modify and then Repair . Do it for both x64 and x86.
Check that the touchpad isn't in a reduced mode due to a BIOS setting (some BIOSes have Basic vs Advanced touhcpad modes).

your BIOS observation is a good clue. if artifacts appear only after Windows loads teh driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses teh Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. if they show up in BIOS…
hmmmm quick q which version are u on?, i swear graphics is cursed
ok but dumb question but how do i even check the driver ?
reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock. artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a driver update can change memory behavior enough to tip a marginal OC over.
oof open services.msc and check that teh vendors audio service is installed and running. Some apps simply say they cant run when their service is stopped. fingers crossed 🤞
