@shader forge omggg the UUID check from teh live USB worked. the UUID in fstab was stale after resizing the root partition. fixed it and Im in. thank u thank u thank u followed this step by step and it worked: How to Fix Kernel Panic…
yeah so it finished normally as far as i saw, but i wasnt watching teh whole time during resizing teh root partition.
Firmware updates usually need the vendor app. Check occasionally even if you uninstall it, especially for wireless devices.
