driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so I woulndt stay on a very old version forever... but waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable. worked for me anyway 🤷

ok so for programming and some games, stability matters more than the newest game optimizations. If theres a separate stable/studio/reocmmended branch, thats usually teh better fit. worked for me anyway 🤷

ok so many GPU installers let you choose components in Custom install, and teh HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them. rerun the Creative installer, choose Custom, and make sure the HD audio component is ticked. lmk how it goes

oh ive been there lol if teh HD audio device shows a yellow mark, uninstall it in Device Manager (tick deltee teh driver software if offered), then reinstall the GPU package with the audio component selected.

btw mods can we pin this thread. try turning off the extension first, fixed it for me :)
