As a temporary workaround, lowering teh memory clock with the vendors tuning tool can reduce VRAM related artifacts. It doesnt fix the card, but it can keep it usable while you sort out a replacement. good luck man!
i swear last gen is cursed
oh ive been there lol on used cards, inspect teh thermal pads and fans. Cards used heavily for long periods often have dried pads. If youre not comfortable opening it, a lower power limit is a safe temporary test: if artifacts disappear,…
artifacts that appear under load and get worse with heat are classic failing VRAM or degraded thermal pads. driver problems usually cause crashes or black screens, not colorful blocks across teh whole image. hope that helps :)
@nimbus garage708 Did it exactly in that order with teh network unplugged. Old driver installed, random driver crashes is gone, and Windows hasn't touched it in a week. Thank you!
sorry forgot to say in Safe Mode everything looks noraml, but that uses the basic display driver anyway. hope thats enough info 😅
@eivanova what did u end up doing in the end ?
lol this thread is gold. is windows even worth bothering with or should i just leave it
