ahh classic try turning off the power plan first, fixed it for me. reading this at 2am instead of sleeping, no regrets good luck man!
Back up first. The safe mode method works in most cases, but if u use real RAID volumes (multiple drives), switching to AHCI will break the array. only do this with single drive setups. good luck man!
