hmmm driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so I wouldn't stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.

yeahhh run ipconfig /all and route print while connected. If teh VPN adapter has no IP or no routes, teh client failed to configure it. Check Event Viewer and the VPN clients own log for the error.
