ok so lsof +L1 shows the app process holding a multi GB deleted log. Thats why df didnt move.

ok so check your creative apps system requirements page... some list a minimum driver version for GPU acceleration features, make sure whichever branch you pick meets that.

@noor.lund yesss ran the installer again, picked Custom, and the HD audio box was unticked. ticked it, reboot, sound on the monitor with speakers is back, movie night rescued. cant believe it was that simple lol

Device Manager doesn't show any HD audio device from NVIDIA anymore, even with hidden devices shown. printer saw i was in a hurry and chose violence

@bgill 40 WOWWW unticked teh power saving option and the Wi Fi has survived resuming from hibernate for a whole week. no more morning reboots! owe u a beer 🍺

ahh right powercfg /a shows Standby (S0 Low Power Idle), sooo Modern Standby it is. idk what else to say tbh
