  1. ive rented srevers for a block-building sandbox before and it worked fine, but Im tempted to self-host on a NAS for a small clan. is it worth teh effort, or will i spend more time fixing things than playing? id love to hear both success stories and horror stories. knowing what can go wrong will help us deicde whether the savings are worth teh effrot. thx in advance!!

  3. oof if you self-host, automate backups of the world save and keep them off the server machine. A dead drive shouldn't wipe months of progress.

  4. yeahhh low-power boards can handle light servers, but many modern survival or modded games need more RAM and CPU than ppl expect. Check the game's recommended server specs.
