ahh classic check your Windows build with winver. newer driver packages can require a minimum feature update. if ure on an old build, install the pending feature update first and try again. lmk how it goes

  1. long time lurker first post lol short version: Forceware Drivers (Windows 2000/XP) 56.72 Certified wont install.

    Windows Update

    Windows Update

Longer version: my perbuilt desktop came with a manufacturer-customized graphics driver... i wanted teh newer one from NVIDIA directly. Every installer i try says its incompatible with my Windows. Is teh laptop maker locking this down, or is my Windows install broken? 🙏 i would realy prefer not to reinstall Windows just to update one driver. If there is a way to check what the installer is actually comparing, i would love to know it. thx in advance!!

  3. yeah so the hardware ID ends in a subsystem ID from the laptop maker, not NVIDIA. idk what else to say tbh
