  1. ok so genuine qeustion about update philosophy. my PC is stable on teh previous release. the new Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.2 Hotfix Update lists fixes that don't realy affect me. do you update anyway for security and compatibiilty, or do you only update when a game or app needs it? i mostly do streaming. i am curious how other people handle this, especially anyone who depends on their PC for work and cannot afford a broken evening. any ideas??

  2. oof driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so i wouldnt stay on a very old version forever, but waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable. good luck man!

  4. For gaming, stability matters more than the newest game optimizations. If theres a separate stable/studio/recommended branch, thats usually the better fit.

  6. my approach: make a restore point, download the previous driver package so it's ready, then try the new one. if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall teh old one. that makes updating a low-risk experiment. good luck man!

  7. Keep a short log of what driver youre on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum-drivers shows installed packages and dates). when smth breaks later, you'll know if teh timing matches. worked for me anyway 馃し

  9. nah tbh i update on day one and have very few issues, most problems pepole report are leftovers from upgrading over old installs, not the driver itself. but hey ymmv
