for Dolby type processing on laptops, the license is often tied to that models specific driver. A newer generic driver from the chip maker may run sound fine but wont enable the app. in that case, stay on the PC makers version.

oof if rollback doesnt help, do a clean install: download the driver you want first, disconnect from the intenret so Windows Update doesnt push its own, boot into Safe Mode , run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), then install teh…
